This long-established and much respected firm of John Earle and Son was founded in 1935 by John Reginald Earle who, until that time, had been the Stock Auctioneer at the Henley-in-Arden Stock and Produce Market. In the 1950′s and 60′s his two sons, Tony and David, joined the practice, both of whom became Fellows of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. In 1980 the team was strengthened by the arrival of Peter Cornford, who is also a Fellow of the Institution of Chartered Surveyors and The National Estate Agents Association, and in 2000 he took over the reigns of the firm. Richard Abbey, also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, joined the practice as an Associate in 1995 and heads the Agricultural and Auctioneering Department. Tony Earle retired in 2000 and, sadly, passed away in the late summer of 2002. The business has retained its traditional, professional approach, considered to be very necessary in the volatile property environment of the early twenty-first century. With effect from 1st April 2007 Peter Cornford invited Richard Abbey to join him in partnership and now John Earle & Son trades as a LLP – Registration No: OC326726. Our Professional Staff work within the strict guidelines laid down by the R.I.C.S., N.A.E.A. and the C.A.A.V., whilst providing ‘Added Value’ to all our clients, via our detailed local knowledge of property matters in this part of Warwickshire and eastern Worcestershire. Our goal is to provide detailed, sound, constructive and balanced advice on the purchasing, selling or management of property. Fields of Practice Not only are we Estate Agents, with expertise in rural properties, but because we are Chartered Surveyors we regularly undertake work in such areas as Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax, Bank and Building Society Valuations, Surveys for prospective purchasers in customized or R.I.C.S. Housebuyers style, Rent Reviews for farms, offices, shops and factories in the locality and Compensation Claims against a variety of public and private utilities. We also act for purchasers in negotiating difficult and complex acquisitions at an agreed fee. Since the passing of the Party Wall Act in 1998 our experience and knowledge has grown enabling us to help neighbours to avoid costly disputes where one party wishes to do work that is within the providence of the Act. Much advice is given to our rural clients following the mid term review of the C.A.P. when dealing with and filling out forms to claim maximum aid from The Rural Payments Agency (Defra).
